Yemen Defense Ministry Warns Against Houthi Rallies, Declares Them Military Targets
The Yemeni Ministry of Defense has issued a stern warning to citizens residing in areas controlled by the Houthi militia, cautioning them against participating in any gatherings or mobilizations organized by the group, declaring such events legitimate military targets.
The ministry stated in an official release that the Houthi militia exploits various activities, including tribal mobilization, public rallies, and cultural courses, as a cover to recruit children and youth and send them to the front lines of combat.
The ministry elaborated that the Houthi militia aims to gather fighters and mislead those who are deceived through these events, with the objective of involving them in combat operations that serve its destructive agenda and prolong the conflict, thereby exposing participants to significant risks.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that all gatherings organized by the militia under these pretexts will be classified as legitimate military targets. It urged citizens to exercise extreme caution and stay away from the sites of these activities, and to prevent the militia from exploiting their children or turning them into cannon fodder for its war effort.
