Saudi Arabia Destroys Four Drones Over Riyadh and Medina

Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday the interception and destruction of four drones over the regions of Riyadh and Medina, marking the latest development in a series of attacks attributed to the Houthi militia against the Kingdom.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense confirmed the successful interception and destruction of the four unmanned aerial vehicles. According to a statement released by the ministry's spokesperson, Major General Turki Al-Malki, via the X platform, Saudi defenses neutralized the threats in both regions. No further details regarding the specific locations of the interceptions or any resulting damage were provided.

This announcement followed an earlier report of a drone being intercepted in the Riyadh area. The incident occurred a day after reports indicated that more than ten drones targeting the Kingdom, including some aimed at the Medina region, had been downed.

The Houthi militia has escalated its attacks on Saudi Arabia throughout October, targeting airports and oil facilities. A notable escalation included an attack on Riyadh Airport on October 10th, which resulted in 13 fatalities and over 100 injuries, according to previous reports.
