Yemen Interior Ministry: Houthi Ballistic Missiles Strike Coast Guard HQ in Aden

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior has reported that Houthi militia, backed by Iran, launched three ballistic missiles targeting the Coast Guard headquarters in the temporary capital, Aden, on Saturday afternoon.

According to a statement from the ministry's General Administration for Moral Guidance and Public Relations, two ballistic missiles struck the Coast Guard headquarters within the Ministry of Interior's diwan, while a third missile targeted the Coast Guard building in the Al-Tawahi district. The attack impacted security and service facilities in the temporary capital.

The ministry noted that this targeting follows a pattern of previous attacks on civilian and vital installations in Aden, including Aden International Airport, which has been subjected to ballistic missile and drone attacks on multiple occasions.

The ministry issued a warning that striking vital installations and public facilities poses a threat to the security and stability of the temporary capital, endangers the safety of citizens, and affects the security and service institutions that provide essential functions to the community.

The relevant authorities are continuing to take necessary measures, gather information, and collect evidence to assess the damages resulting from the attack. They are also working to determine appropriate actions to bolster security and stability in Aden and to protect citizens and public facilities.
