Yemen Coast Guard Vows to Continue Missions Despite Aden Attack
The Yemeni Coast Guard Directorate affirmed that a missile attack by Houthi militias on vital facilities belonging to the directorate in the temporary capital, Aden, will not affect the forces' readiness or hinder their national duties in protecting maritime security and enforcing the law.
The directorate clarified in a statement that targeting civilian and security facilities will not deter Coast Guard personnel from continuing their duties in protecting Yemen's coastlines and territorial waters, combating smuggling, and confronting illicit supply lines exploited by the militias.
The leadership emphasized the directorate's continued steadfast performance of its security and national responsibilities, and the enhancement of coordination with the Yemeni Armed Forces and the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, contributing to the protection of Yemen's security and sovereignty and confronting threats targeting state institutions.
The statement asserted that these attacks will not alter the directorate's national commitments, stressing that Coast Guard personnel will continue to perform their duties with responsibility and determination despite the challenges.
The Coast Guard Directorate concluded its statement by reaffirming its ongoing efforts to protect territorial waters and secure Yemeni coastlines, and to continue carrying out its missions in accordance with the law.
