Seven Security Forces Killed or Injured in Abyan Ambush

Five members of the "Shield of the Homeland" forces were killed and two others were injured in an armed ambush targeting a military vehicle in the Abyan Governorate on Saturday evening, October 31, 2026.

Local sources reported that unidentified gunmen set up an ambush for the military vehicle in the Dhi'man area, affiliated with the Al-Mahfad district. The assailants opened fire on the vehicle, resulting in the death of five personnel and injuries to two others.

The sources further stated that the gunmen looted the military vehicle and the personal belongings of the individuals on board before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

Recent weeks have seen increased activity by Houthi cells and Al-Qaeda elements in several regions, amid accusations of collaboration between the two groups.
