Houthi Militants Destroy Home in Taiz with Explosives
Houthi militants detonated a civilian residence in Taiz governorate on Thursday, using dynamite and explosive devices. The targeted home belonged to a member of the popular resistance in the Sha'ab Muzaffar area of Al-Aqroodh, Al-Masrakh district, southern Taiz.
Field sources reported that Houthi elements planted significant quantities of dynamite and explosives within and around the structure belonging to citizen Mazen Abu Assaf Al-Jaradi. The house was subsequently destroyed and leveled to the ground.
According to the sources, the demolition of the house was an act of reprisal against Al-Jaradi for his role in resisting the Houthi militia. This incident is described as another violation by the group against civilians and their property, and an attempt to intimidate and punish citizens who oppose their agenda.
This event occurs amidst ongoing reports of conflict and alleged Houthi transgressions in the region. Recent incidents include joint forces recapturing territory in Lahj and repelling a Houthi attack in Taiz, as well as civilian casualties from alleged Houthi shelling in Taiz.
