Yemeni Armed Forces Condemn Houthi Attack on Taiz Market

The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson announced that the Houthi militia committed a new terrorist act against civilians, targeting the Al-Hadara popular market in the Al-Wazi'iyah district of Taiz governorate with a ballistic missile on Friday. The attack resulted in dozens of civilian casualties, including martyrs and wounded, constituting a war crime that demands accountability for those who ordered and executed it.

In a statement, the spokesperson indicated that this crime exemplifies the militia's terrorist approach, which directs its weapons at civilians whenever it suffers defeats on the front lines or experiences failures in its missile launch attempts. The statement reiterated the call for the international community to assume its responsibility regarding these crimes and to take clear and swift steps to designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, dry up its funding sources, and cut off its arms supplies.

The spokesperson affirmed that the militia's crimes will only strengthen the resolve of the armed forces to eradicate its threat, protect the Yemeni people, and avert its menace to regional security and the freedom of navigation and global trade routes. This will be achieved by continuing the "Dawn of Yemen" operation in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
