Houthi Abductions of Child and Educator Reported in Taiz

The Houthi militia has reportedly abducted a 12-year-old girl and an educator in two separate incidents in the Al-Aqrosh and Jabal Habashi areas of Taiz Governorate, fueling widespread discontent over ongoing violations against civilians.

Local sources indicated that militia elements kidnapped a young girl from the village of Al-Hojla in the Al-Aqrosh district after her father refused to provide them with food. She was subsequently taken to an unknown location.

This act has provoked significant anger and dismay among the village residents, who have denounced it as a flagrant violation of societal values and norms, demanding the immediate and unconditional release of the child.

In a separate incident, the militia abducted educator Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al-Mujahid from the Al-Qahaf area in the Jabal Habashi district, shortly after his return from a displacement journey. Local sources confirmed that Al-Mujahid was taken by militia members to an undisclosed location, and his family has been denied contact or information regarding his fate.

Areas recently brought under Houthi control in Taiz Governorate have witnessed a surge in arbitrary abductions, with dozens of civilians reportedly targeted as part of an escalation in violations against citizens, leading to considerable distress among the local population.
